Selective Licensing Scheme — 16 Wards (Judicial Review Refused, Scheme Resumed March 2026)

In March 2026, a High Court judge refused permission for a Judicial Review challenging Thurrock's 16-ward selective licensing scheme, allowing the council to resume the scheme fully. Landlords were urged to submit applications before the 31 March 2026 deadline to avoid higher fees or enforcement action.
