Accessibility Statement

Who this statement covers

This statement covers the RentFig website at www.rentfig.co.uk and the RentFig app you use once signed in, including the Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax pages and My tax return, where co-owners file their own share. RentFig is run by RentFig Ltd.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use RentFig. You should be able to:

• zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen or needing to scroll sideways
• use the whole of the MTD journey with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
• skip straight to the main content with the "Skip to main content" link
• use a screen reader: pages have titles, headings, labelled form fields and landmarks
• tell what something means without relying on colour: statuses always have text or an icon as well (for example "Submitted" or "Overdue")
• change colours, contrast and fonts using your browser or device settings

How accessible RentFig is

RentFig is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard, because of the gaps listed below.

Known gaps

• PDF documents RentFig creates (such as tenancy agreements, notices and statements) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. If you need a document in another format, contact us.
• Some charts on the dashboard and in reports do not yet have a full text alternative.
• The outlines of form fields are low contrast. Every field has a visible label, and the field you are in has a strong dark outline.
• The Transactions and Communications pages have single-letter keyboard shortcuts (such as "j" and "k") that work whenever you are not typing in a field. They can't be turned off yet.
• We tested the MTD journey and our main pages in detail (see below). Other, older parts of the app have not yet had the same full review.
• Some steps happen on other organisations' sites that we don't control, such as HMRC's Government Gateway sign-in, card payments and electronic signing. Their accessibility is their responsibility.

How we tested

On 4 October 2026 we tested the home page, pricing, our MTD guide, sign-in, the dashboard, the MTD pages (portfolio and quarterly update), reminder settings and My tax return. We used automated checks against WCAG 2.1 A and AA at desktop width and at 320 pixels wide (equivalent to 400% zoom), and checked page titles, headings, language, text spacing, sideways scrolling, and that every control on the MTD pages can be reached with the Tab key and shows where you are. We fixed the problems we found: low colour contrast in places, hard-to-see keyboard focus outlines, a missing main heading and the lack of a "Skip to main content" link.

We check new MTD features with automated accessibility tests before they are released.
