Track Landlord Insurance and Get Renewal Reminders

Record every policy against its property — buildings, contents, landlord, rent guarantee and more — and RentFig watches the renewal dates, reminding you before cover lapses on your dashboard and by email. Here’s how to set it up.

On the paid plans (Starter and up). The same tracker also covers utility and tariff renewals.

How it works

1. Open the property's Insurance tab

Go to the property and open the Insurance tab, then choose Add policy. You can type the details in, or upload the policy schedule (PDF) and let RentFig read the insurer, policy number, cover dates and premium straight off it.

2. Record the policy

Pick the policy type — landlord buildings, contents, building & contents, rent guarantee, emergency repair or liability — and save the insurer, policy number, cover start and end dates, sum insured, excess and premium. Each policy sits against its property, so a portfolio's cover is easy to see.

3. Let RentFig watch the renewal date

RentFig tracks every expiry date and marks each policy active, upcoming or expired. About 28 days before a policy runs out it appears on your dashboard's For Your Attention list and RentFig sends you an email reminder.

Good to know: The reminder window (28 days by default) is configurable per account, and if you've already renewed with continuous cover the alert suppresses itself — no false alarms.

4. Or just forward the renewal

When the renewal quote or schedule lands in your inbox, forward it to your RentFig address. RentFig reads the new policy, updates the cover dates, records the premium and attaches the schedule to the policy — you just confirm.

Frequently asked questions

What types of insurance can I track?

Landlord buildings, contents, building & contents, rent guarantee, emergency repair and liability — plus an 'other' option for anything else. Each policy records the insurer, policy number, cover dates, sum insured, excess and premium.

When does RentFig remind me about a renewal?

About 28 days before a policy expires (configurable), it shows on your dashboard's For Your Attention list and RentFig emails you a reminder. If you've already taken out a new policy that continues the cover, the alert clears automatically.

Where do I add insurance policies?

On each property's Insurance tab. Policies live against the property they cover, and upcoming renewals across your whole portfolio surface together on your dashboard.

Can RentFig read my policy document?

Yes. When you add a policy you can upload the schedule and RentFig extracts the insurer, policy number, cover dates and premium for you to check. If you forward a renewal email instead, the schedule is attached to the policy automatically.

Does forwarding a renewal update the policy on its own?

Yes — forward the renewal to your RentFig inbox and it drafts the update (new cover dates, premium, document), then auto-confirms after 24 hours unless you change it. See the guide on forwarding documents by email.

Which plan includes the insurance tracker?

It's on the paid plans — Starter, Standard and Business. (The same feature also tracks utility and tariff renewals.)
