Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant

Connect the AI assistant you already use — Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor and more — to RentFig, so it can answer questions about your properties, tenants, rent and compliance. The connection is read-only and you sign in as yourself.

Getting Started

Open the AI assistants page — Go to Settings → Integrations → AI assistants (any paid plan, or during your free trial).
Copy the address — Click Copy next to the RentFig address (www.rentfig.co.uk/api/mcp).
Pick your app — Under 'Which AI app do you use?', choose Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, VS Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI or Other AI apps to see its exact steps.
Add RentFig in your app — Add a custom connector (or MCP server) in your AI app and paste the address.
Sign in and allow — A RentFig page opens. Sign in, check what the app can and can't do, and choose 'Allow read-only access'.
Ask away — Try 'Which of my tenants owe rent?' or 'Which certificates expire next month?'

Common Questions

Can the assistant change anything?

No. It can only read. It can't change, add or delete anything, send emails, WhatsApps or letters, move money, or open your uploaded documents.

RentFig says it doesn't recognise my app.

Claude, ChatGPT and apps on your own computer (such as VS Code, Cursor and Claude Code) connect straight away. For other apps, the account owner can switch on 'Allow other AI apps' on the AI assistants page — those apps then show a warning naming the website your data goes to, which you confirm before allowing.

Where does the data go?

What the assistant reads, including tenants' contact details, is sent to the company that runs it (for example Anthropic or OpenAI), under that company's own terms. Only connect an assistant you trust with that data.

How do I disconnect it?

Settings → Integrations → AI assistants → Connected assistants → Disconnect. It stops working through RentFig's connector straight away; any access it already holds ends within the hour and can only read.
