Managing Your Properties
This guide covers how to delete a property, archive properties in bulk, and how portfolios work when adding a new property.

How to delete a property
Deleting a property permanently removes it from your account. This cannot be undone, so RentFig asks you to confirm before proceeding.
Steps
- Go to Properties in the left sidebar.
- Click the property you want to remove to open its detail page.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Delete Property button (shown in red with a warning icon).
- A confirmation prompt will appear. Read it carefully, then click Confirm Delete.
- The property is removed immediately and will no longer appear in your list.
Before you delete
- All tenancies, documents, and financial records linked to this property will also be deleted.
- If you want to keep the data but remove the property from your active view, consider archiving instead (see below).
How to archive properties
Archiving hides a property from your default view without deleting any data. Use this when a property is no longer active — for example, a property you have sold or taken off the rental market temporarily.
Archive one or more properties at once
- Go to Properties.
- Tick the checkbox on the left of each property you want to archive. You can select multiple.
- An actions bar appears at the bottom of the screen once at least one property is selected.
- Click Archive Selected in the actions bar.
- A confirmation dialog asks you to confirm. Click Archive.
- The selected properties are archived and disappear from your list.
Viewing archived properties
Archived properties are hidden by default. To view them, tick Show archived in the filters bar at the top of the Properties page. Archived properties are shown with a label to distinguish them from active ones.
Archive vs Delete
Archive keeps all your data intact and is reversible. Delete permanently removes everything and cannot be undone. When in doubt, archive.
Portfolios — why you must select one when adding a property
RentFig organises properties into portfolios. A portfolio is a named group — for example “London Properties”, “HMOs”, or “Ltd Company Portfolio”. Every property must belong to a portfolio, so RentFig asks you to choose one when adding a new property.
Adding a property: choosing a portfolio
- Go to Properties and click Add Property.
- Fill in the property details (address, type, etc.).
- In the Portfolio field, select the portfolio this property belongs to. This field is required — you cannot save the property without choosing one.
- Click Save. The property is added to the selected portfolio.
What if I do not have a portfolio yet?
You need to create at least one portfolio before adding properties. To create a portfolio:
- Go to Settings → Portfolios.
- Click New Portfolio and give it a name.
- Return to Properties → Add Property and select the new portfolio.
Moving a property to a different portfolio
You can reassign properties at any time two ways:
- Single property: open the property, edit it, and change the Portfolio field.
- Multiple properties: select them on the Properties page, then click Assign Portfolio in the actions bar and choose the destination portfolio.
