Create and E-Sign Landlord Documents

The paperwork a UK tenancy needs — tenancy terms, deposit information, notices and the Renters’ Rights Act information sheet — generated on the official forms and pre-filled from your records, then sent for e-signature and tracked to signed. Here’s how it works.

Last updated: July 2026

How it works

1. Open the Document Creator

Go to Documents → Create and choose a template. You'll find the written statement of terms for a tenancy, Section 8 and Section 13 notices on the official forms, prescribed deposit information, the Renters' Rights Act information sheet, an entry notice, a Certificate of Service (N215), and standard letters.

2. Let it fill itself from your records

Pick the tenancy and RentFig pre-fills the document — tenant names, the property address, dates, rent and deposit details all come from your data. You only type what can't be worked out from records, like the new rent figure on a Section 13.

3. Generate, review and send

Generate the document and check it. Download it as a PDF or Word file, or email it straight to the tenant as an attachment — RentFig keeps a record of what was sent and when. The Renters' Rights Act information sheet can be bulk-sent to all your existing tenancies at once.

4. Send for e-signature and track it

Choose Send for signature and add the signers; each gets their own secure link (no account needed). Watch it move from Sent to Viewed to Signed, with reminders if you need them. When everyone's signed, the signed PDF and a tamper-evident audit trail are stored and filed against the tenancy automatically.

Good to know: Signing is metered per month by plan — 1 envelope on Starter, 5 on Standard, 25 on Business, with top-ups available.

Frequently asked questions

What documents can I create?

The written statement of terms for a Renters' Rights Act tenancy, deposit prescribed information (with the right scheme leaflet), Section 8 and Section 13 notices on the official forms, an entry notice, a Certificate of Service (N215), the Renters' Rights Act information sheet, and standard letters like a welcome letter, tenancy confirmation and privacy notice.

Do I have to type everything in?

No. Pick the tenancy and RentFig fills the document from your records — tenant names, property address, dates, rent and deposit. It only asks for what it genuinely can't derive, such as the new rent on a rent-increase notice.

Can tenants sign online?

Yes. Send a document for e-signature, add the signers, and each gets a secure link — no account needed. You can see who has viewed and signed, and once everyone's done the signed PDF and a tamper-evident audit trail (who signed, and when) are stored and filed against the tenancy automatically.

Is there a Section 21 notice?

No — Section 21 'no-fault' evictions are abolished under the Renters' Rights Act 2025. RentFig follows the new route instead: periodic tenancies with a written statement of terms, Section 8 possession on the correct grounds, and Section 13 for rent increases.

Where do the documents end up?

In your documents vault, filed against the tenancy and property. Signed documents are filed there automatically when signing completes, so everything for a tenancy stays in one place.

Which plans include this?

The Document Creator is on the paid plans (Starter and up). Section 8 and Section 13 notices are on the Standard and Business plans. E-signature envelopes are included monthly — 1 on Starter, 5 on Standard and 25 on Business — with top-ups available.
