MCP connector
Connect your AI assistant to RentFig
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to RentFig and ask it about your properties, tenants, rent arrears, compliance and profit and loss. The connection is read-only and you sign in as yourself. Pick your app below for the exact steps.
Before you start
- You need a paid RentFig plan (Starter, Standard or Business) or a free trial.
- Your RentFig address is
https://www.rentfig.co.uk/api/mcp— it’s also shown, with a Copy button, in RentFig under Settings → Integrations → AI assistants. - Your AI app must let you add a custom connector or MCP server — some only allow this on certain plans.

- Desktop apps that sign in through your browser on the same computer (for example Zed or Goose) usually connect without this setting.
Apps that can’t connect yet
- Gemini app (gemini.google.com): Google's custom connectors are limited to some Gemini plans, and their sign-in step is currently reported not to complete. Gemini CLI should work instead.
- Microsoft Copilot (consumer app): It doesn't let you add your own connectors. Copilot Studio can, with Allow other AI apps switched on.
- JetBrains AI Assistant: It doesn't yet document OAuth sign-in for remote MCP servers.
What a connected assistant is blocked from doing
- Change, add or delete anything in RentFig
- Send emails, WhatsApps or letters
- Take or move any money
- Open your uploaded documents and files
What it reads — including tenants’ names and contact details — goes to the company that runs the assistant, under that company’s own terms. Only connect an assistant you trust with that data.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Which RentFig plan do I need?
Any paid plan (Starter, Standard or Business), and it's included during your free trial. It isn't available on the Free plan.
The RentFig page says it doesn't recognise my app. What now?
Claude, ChatGPT and apps on your own computer (such as VS Code, Cursor and Claude Code) connect straight away. For other apps, the RentFig account owner can switch on “Allow other AI apps” in Settings → Integrations → AI assistants. Those apps then show a warning naming the website your data will go to, and you tick a box to confirm you trust it before allowing.
It says my plan doesn't include it.
Connecting an AI assistant needs a RentFig plan that includes AI Mode — any paid plan. Upgrade in Settings → Account & Billing, then try again from your AI app.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
In RentFig, go to Settings → Integrations → AI assistants and click Disconnect next to it. It stops working through RentFig's connector straight away; any access it already holds ends within the hour and can only read. You can also remove the connector inside your AI app.
Can team members connect their own assistant?
Yes, each person connects their own. It only sees the sections and portfolios that person can already see in RentFig. Contractors can't connect one.
